WrestleMania to Stomp Back into Vegas

WrestleMania is set to take place again at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026. The announcement follows a month after WWE revealed that the previous version, WrestleMania 41, was “the most successful and highest-grossing event in the history of the company.”

Paul Michael Levesque, WWE's chief content officer, announced it during the company's "Money in the Bank" event on Saturday in Los Angeles.

“In my experience, anything worth doing is worth doing twice,” said the former professional wrestler also known as Triple H. “So I’ve got just one question for you — are you ready to double down?”

WrestleMania was initially planned for the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, as disclosed by The Rock on the Feb. 21 episode of "Friday Night SmackDown." However, last month, WWE announced that it had modified its plans.

This is just the second occasion that WWE will hold WrestleMania in the same city for two consecutive years. The most recent one took place in 1988-89 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Economic Setback

In April, WrestleMania 41 produced an approximate economic impact of $215 million for Las Vegas, as reported by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. This statistic encompasses spending by the roughly 125K attendees at the two-night main event at Allegiant and a weekend full of events, comprising a Friday Night SmackDown show at T-Mobile Arena, a WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony at the Fontainebleau, and a WWE fan experience at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The weekend was favorable for the WWE too. Approximately 5.8 to 6.2 million streaming accounts watched WrestleMania 41 events — an increase of 3.1 to 3.3 million accounts compared to WrestleMania 40’s record of 2.7–2.9 million — with international Netflix streaming likely elevating the global figure significantly.

This will mark the third occurrence of the event in Vegas. The initial event was WrestleMania IX in 1993.

Contending With History

The probable explanation for WWF (the name WWE was known by before 2002) not coming back to Vegas for over 30 years is that the initial experience was not very positive.

Conducted at the Caesars Palace Grand Garden — essentially just the Caesars Palace parking lot — WrestleMania IX is viewed as one of the lesser installments in the series.

Following Yokozuna's victory over Bret Hart for the WWF Championship in the main event, the decision was made for him to face Hulk Hogan right away in an unscheduled match. Although this returned the title to Hogan for the final time, at the time, the sudden change in booking largely disappointed WWF fans.

Furthermore, the transmission was plagued by sound problems that made much of the commentary difficult to hear.

Ultimately, the event did not reach full capacity. Though 16,891 people showed up, there were 18,000 tickets for sale, leaving over 1,000 tickets unclaimed. And undoubtedly thousands had already been distributed to casino VIPs, high-rollers, WWF staff, media representatives, and contest winners.
