A new cryptocurrency sportsbook and casino, BetHog, was officially launched in select areas, the company revealed this week.

The release occurs as Bitcoin reached unprecedented levels exceeding $90K this week (trading at $91,205.99 as of Thursday morning) after Donald Trump was elected the 47th US president.

Certain analysts anticipate that Bitcoin's price might exceed $100K by month's end, driven by speculation that the Trump administration will relax regulations on cryptocurrency.

Principals Are Co-Founders of FanDuel

BetHog was established by Nigel Eccles and Rob Jones, who were co-founders of the FanDuel betting site.

"The crypto casino market has seen dramatic growth over the past few years, driven by innovations like provably fair games, robust VIP programs, and streaming,” Eccles said in a statement. “With BetHog, my goal is to innovate even further by bringing unique and highly visual games to market. I want to offer users unique play-along and skill-based titles, combined with a robust VIP offering, but most of all, this is about maximizing fun for our users.”

The website was introduced following a 10-month development phase. It includes unique BetHog games like HODL (Crash for meme coins), Thermonuclear Boars (Mines), and Liar’s Dice. Additional services are offered by Pragmatic and Evolution.

The BetHog casino operates on Solana, a blockchain platform, with SOL serving as the token for the company's PvP games. BetHog likewise accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether (USDT).

BetHog secured $6M in an initial funding round led by 6MV, a venture capital firm specializing in gaming. Additional participants include Will Ventures, Bullpen Capital, Karatage, Advancit Capital, and various angel investors such as Chris Grove, an emeritus partner at Eilers & Krejcik, LLC, along with Josh Hannah, a co-founder of Flutter Entertainment.

The recent influx of funds will be allocated for product innovation and to foster strategic collaborations.

Serge Kassardjian, general partner at 6MV, said BetHog.is “perfectly positioned to unlock this massive opportunity to build the most innovative online casino and betting platform of this era of crypto.”

“We believe this will bring in a diverse audience of crypto and non-crypto gamers to enjoy this differentiated and fun gambling experience.”

Not Available in the US

At the moment, BetHog is not accessible in the US or in many parts of Europe. However, Forbes announced this week that BetHog ultimately aims to be accessible to players in these areas "where practical."

BetHog holds a license in Anjouan, which is situated in the Indian Ocean near the African coast.

The firm enters the market following BetDEX Exchange, a cryptocurrency sportsbook from Scotland, which debuted in May.

A couple of weeks back, another crypto casino, MetaWin, was breached, resulting in a $4M theft. The online casino based in London also functions under a license granted by Anjouan.
